RUSSIAN SYSTEM OF MARTIAL ARTS "TEN PETALS".

Presentation video. English version.

The “Ten petals” System of martial arts

What is it?

Like every other martial arts system, “Ten petals” is first and foremost about people: Masters, trainers, brothers-in-arms, disciples, students and like-minded people.

The system is its history; the history of its rise, formation and evolution, traditions and succession.

It is strictly a technique of training in martial arts; in this case – the like-named methodology of grandmaster Ivan Nikishov.

For creating and testing this methodology, the most modern theories of teaching were used and taken into account, as well as knowledge in human psychology, physiology and functioning of the central nervous system. And most importantly, the system is adapted to the Russian mentality and lifestyle.

Traditionally the methodology is divided into skill-levels, corresponding to the Qualification requirements for obtaining belts, and this is covered in the Training plan.

For presentation purposes and for ease of reading the Qualification requirements, the Training plan and the Schedule of the training activities are shown on the following diagram:

Historically, the range of technical means of “Ten petals” contains five parts, or better, the modern technical arsenal of the School has formed under the influence of Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Burmese (Myanmar) and domestic techniques. These are the five sectors on the diagram.

Due to the peculiarities of the techniques of each part, the disciple works out certain particular qualities as a warrior.

And the five layers of this diagram symbolize stages or levels of mastering this technique.

The first level.

Basic technique. Individual performance.

It goes without saying that disciples begin to absorb the technique from the basic level or foundation; the pillar of the martial art movement`s culture.

The second level.

Basic technique. Performance with the partner.

It is divided into hard and soft approaches. The mastered material is checked up and enshrined now by practicing with a partner.

The third level.

This level can be divided conditionally into three parts:

Part I: generation of such qualities as Power, Speed and Compactness – with preserving plasticity and harmony of movements, innate to the soft techniques. The difference between hard and soft techniques dissolves completely on this level.

Part II – improving of the “battle thinking”. Such qualities as Universality, Combinatorics and Variability are developed.

The III part – the segment of tactical movements is added, on which all known techniques are strung. Here the cause and the consequence mix up, there is neither attacker nor defender – it’s a permanent holiday; a “symphony”, in the words of Ivan Nikishov, pure creativity!

The forth level.

Technique of using the weapons and other improvised means.

Besides the applied aspects, the work with weapons enables to work out such qualities of a warrior which can hardly be understood and mastered without weapons. Of course, at first we use training weapons. The training weapons appear to be an especially convenient training simulator for adding special qualities to our technique.

The fifth level.

A special part “Ten petals” Methods by Ivan Nikishov. On this level the technique becomes rapid-fire, extra-powered and very compact. It is achieved with the help of a practice method called “RHYTHM-IMPULSE”.

And to finish.

It’s not by accident that in the center of the diagram the emblem of our System is placed. This is a symbol of a special condition of the disciple. Precisely, the disciple becomes a Master.

A master plans nothing, doesn’t care or bother about anything, doesn’t argue or prove anything to anybody; he only acts.

This is what the Method of Ivan Nikishov is about.

Thank you for your attention.
